Hack the 6ix
Background
From 2022 to 2024, I was part of the design team for Hack the 6ix. During my first two years, I was a Design Executive and after, I was the Co-Director of Design. With this new position, I took on more responsibilities to direct the team in the right direction in terms of visual design, as that is my specialty. Listed below are the items I worked on throughout the years I was on the team.
Although I am not part of the team, I still keep in touch with other members in case they want me to mentor them in their Hack the 6ix journey. Being a part of the team throughout the years has taught me so much about design, teamwork and having fun!

Role: Co-Director of Design and in charge of all visuals of design
Theme: Water has memory & 10 years of technolog
The 2024 year’s theme is special because it was also the 10th anniversary of Hack the 6ix. We want a theme that commemorates all we’ve done throughout the years, and since technology is a big part of our mission, we want to somehow incorporate it with easter eggs! An executive said during our brainstorming phase that we should explore a water theme because “water has memory.” From there on, we brainstormed and collaborated all together to create this year's theme: water has memory & 10 years of technology. Although the two are fairly opposite, we successfully merged them into the assets you see below. Since water isn’t what you see on the surface, we must also explore the depths. The sunken ship is an easter egg that was part of 2023 assets. On the above water aspect, we have little islands, and some have a technology part of it. This technology acts as a pillar to the island. For example, if you look closely at the computer, the mouse is a little boat that is floating towards the main computer. Overall, this year's theme shows how innovative and creative our design team is. I had the pleasure of working with such talented executives who were kind and patient. As always: GO DESIGN!
